Overview

Overview of the Chulu Far East Peak Climb and Annapurna Circuit

Beyond the Annapurna Himalaya, amongst a group of peaks known as the Manang Himal, the eminently climbable Chulu Far East (6059m) boasts a superb summit panorama that includes all of the Annapurnas, as well as a number of less-known peaks in Tibet. Our approach to the mountain follows the trek of the classic Annapurna Circuit for some days days before climbing to a base camp above the villages of Gyaru and Ngawal.

Highlights of the Chulu Far East and Annapurna Circuit

Chulu Far East has been compared in character to Island peak in the Everest region and offers some really interesting climbing without being too technical. Using a high camp, we make our ascent via straightforward snow-slopes to a sensational pinnacle summit. Descending to Manang in the deep cleft of the Marsyangdi valley, the second part of this fantastic climbing holiday is our trek out to Jomsom, via the mighty Thorong La pass (5416m).

What can you do before or after your Chulu Far East and Annapurna Circuit

We at Himalayan Treks allow full customisation for our customers, which is why we also have add-ons and trip extensions which can be perused by interested trekkers. Some popular trip extensions availed by our clients include a day or more exploring the historic sites of KathmanduBhaktapur or why not pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Chitwan National Park. However, if you are looking for a different experience altogether, we can recommend the  Everest Base Camp trek or the  Manaslu Circuit trek.
